Callahan Weld Inspection LLC was started with the goal in mind that is simplistic on the face of it: "Business gets done more efficiently when we do our jobs right."
An AWS/CWI is responsible for inspecting weld quality, workmanship, and conformance to specifications and usually adherance to a specific code or standard. Since welding is a vital aspect of construction, manufacturing, infrastructure, and much more, CWIs help ensure the safety of the general public.
Richard Callahan started out his professional career by entering into the US Army at age 17 and there learned the importance of discipline and motivation. After serving he became involved in sales until one fateful day he made a sales call to a customer that was a bit unhappy about the services they were receiving. Having always had a customer first mentality, Rich (thats what everyone calls him) decided to service the customer himself and it was a welding inspection company in Texas. The account was salvaged because Rich strapped on his boots (literally) and joined another welding inspector in the field to ensure the welds were clean enough for inspection. He was so impressed with the process that when he returned and met with the owner, he asked how he could get into that field of work. He went to training for his NDE certifications achieving his Radiographic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and ultrasonic shear-wave certifications. Almost 20 years passed before he decided to certify as an AWS/CWI welding inspector. Now with almost 30 years of experience he has decided to bring his experience and expertise to customers directly, thus the incorporation of Callahan Weld Inspection LLC. Today we serve a multitude of customers within the weld inspection industry. Still his goal and motto is Customer First.
